Our History

PT. Janata Marina Indah

For more than four decades, PT. Janata Marina Indah (JMI) has established itself as a key player in the Indonesian maritime industry. Beginning with the operation of a graving dock at the Port of Tanjung Emas, Semarang, on December 29, 1982, the company was founded to meet the vital need for ship maintenance, repair, and new shipbuilding services.

In line with its rapid growth and to answer increasing market demands, PT. JMI constructed shipyard unit II in 1993, equipped with larger and more modern capacity and facilities. A commitment to quality and international standards is a primary pillar of the company, evidenced by the achievement of ISO 9001 certification since 1998, which was later reinforced with OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 certifications in 2015.

On July 16, 2009, the company officially changed its name to PT Janata Marina Indah, a strategic move to align the company's identity with its business field in accordance with government regulations. Supported by hundreds of competent experts and technology transfer collaborations with various international institutions, PT. JMI continues to innovate and create, serving customers from the private sector, government, to foreign markets, and carving out achievements in the construction of various types of vessels, from tugboats to modern technology tankers.
